Lee & Danielle wanted to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary (congrats guys!), by getting some photos at the place they got married – Newstead House.
Newstead House is on a small hill across from Breakfast Creek, and next to the Brisbane River. There are gardens around Newstead House, as well as a gazebo right on the waterfront, looking out towards Hamilton. It’s a lovely spot, with some local wildlife, as well as a couple of fishermen or two.
Lee & Danielle were after some natural and relaxed portraits, showing their love and celebrating 10 years of happily ever after married life (or putting up with one another….). Which was perfect, as this is my style. I like to just wander around and get shots of people interacting with each other and enjoying being together.
I met up with Lee, Danielle and their two kids prior to doing the shoot. They are really down to earth and natural people, who just wanted photos to express who they are and their love for each other. The shoot was really easy and relaxed, we wandered around the gardens and did some photos here, some there. I asked them to do a couple of things, and they asked if they could do a couple of things. It was really laid back and casual.
We went for the casual look in the gardens around Newstead House. We then moseyed on over to the Brisbane Powerhouse, for a quick costume change and a more dressed up look.
There were a few sultry smiles exchanged (having a child free night makes any married couple smile in excitement!).
I did make poor Lee dance (the last time being on his wedding night, 10 years prior), but it was all for a good cause – and will give them memories to smile about later down the track when they look at their photos.
Congratulations Lee & Danielle. 10 years is a milestone and it’s so lovely that you chose me to share your day with you. Thank you!
